BARGAINING COUNCIL FOR THE BUILDING INDUSTRY
MBA Boland represents the Employers’ Party at the Council and annually negotiate basic employment conditions and wage increases on behalf of their members and the Building Industry.
The Council provides the employees of MBA Boland members with fringe benefits such as pension, medical aid fund, sick pay fund and holiday pay fund.
The MBA office is capable and willing to assist members on a variety of problems experienced by builders/subcontractors provided it falls within the ambit of the MBA Constitution and Objectives.
Members of MBA Boland have access to the JBCC series and NBSA series building contracts at special rates.

Members have the right to use the MBA Boland logo on their letterheads and other stationery. The MBA Boland office supplies MBA membership stickers to use on your vehicles.
MEETINGS / GATHERINGS
Over and above the Annual General Meeting, the Association arranges regular regional meetings to keep members informed on the latest developments in the industry. At such meetings members will receive feedback on a variety of important issues as well as assistance in their short- and long term planning.
The annual Dinner and Dance is the highlight on the social calendar where members can get to know one another better and enjoy a sociable evening together.
You, as one of the Association’s members, will receive the following publications:

- The Labour Relations Act 1995, a manual for building contractors.
MBA Boland assist employers to comply with the requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act. This service includes visits to building sites, safety documentation, first aid and safety representatives training, training for management and expert advice by our safety advisor. In conjunction with the MBSA, MBA Boland arranges an annual safety competition with Mutual Assurance Company (FEMA). The objective is to improve safety on building sites.
Members are entitled to advice and assistance with their labour relations matters. MBA Boland provides a venue (if required) for disciplinary and appeal hearings and act as chairman for the proceedings. Members are assisted with the appointment or dismissal/retrenchment of employees. The association also assists members in cases referred to the CCMA for arbitration.
